One of the goals of the MMPP Study Program is to produce qualified and professional graduates as prospective property experts, property appraisers, business appraisers, and property researchers. To achieve this goal, property valuation workshops are necessary. These workshops aim to increase knowledge and practice in property valuation within the scope of the Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) or Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) system.
A country's economic growth is greatly influenced by the completeness of its infrastructure. One way to finance infrastructure projects that are often done by the Indonesian government is to invite the private sector to participate in government project procurement through the Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) or Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) system.
Project financing with the BOT/BGS Agreement covers feasibility studies, procurement of goods, financing, and operation. Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) is the Utilization of State/Regional Owned Assets in the form of land by other parties by constructing buildings and/or facilities and their facilities, then utilized by those other parties within a certain agreed period, to then be returned to the land along with the buildings and/or facilities and their facilities after the end of the period.

Thus, the BOT/BGS agreement is a concept where the project is built entirely at the expense of a private company, several private companies, or in collaboration with a state-owned enterprise (BUMN). After construction, the contractor operates the project, and after the operational phase is completed as stipulated in the BOT agreement, the project is then transferred to the government as the project owner.
This workshop will increase knowledge and provide experience in property valuation within the scope of the Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) business. This workshop is expected to be able to serve as a provision, a supplement, in increasing their knowledge and skills as professionals in the field of business valuation. BOT is one of the most common methods of financing infrastructure projects between the government and the private sector, so infrastructure development is realized, and investment is improving in Indonesia. Therefore, MMPP students need to know how the valuation process takes place so that the profit sharing between the government and the private sector occurs with a win-win solution.

This workshop features a speaker from the Indonesian Society of Appraisers (MAPPI), Sumbagut Ir. Taslim, MMPP, MAPPI (Cert). The workshop will be held on Saturday (November 25, 2017), in Room 101 of the Old Building of the USU Postgraduate School.
The purpose and objectives of this workshop are to provide valuation experience to lecturers, students, and alumni as a supplement to increasing their knowledge and skills as professionals in the field of valuation.
