Innovate, Collaborate, and Transform with the Graduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara!

Warm greetings to us all. We give thanks to Almighty God for His blessings, grace, good health, and guidance, which have enabled the website of the Graduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara to continue to be updated as a platform for information, communication, and services for the academic community and the wider public. Distinguished guests, colleagues, and members of the academic community, The Graduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara was established in 1985 and initially managed all master’s and doctoral programs at Universitas Sumatera Utara. Along with the development of higher education governance, since 2009, based on the Articles of Association and Bylaws of USU as a State-Owned Legal Entity (BHMN), the management of monodisciplinary study programs has been transferred to their respective faculties. Today, the Graduate School focuses on delivering multidisciplinary study programs designed to address the increasingly complex challenges of development and the needs of society. A multidisciplinary approach has become increasingly important amid the rapid advancement of science and technology, as well as the accelerating pace of social change. The various challenges faced by society today can no longer be addressed through a single academic discipline alone. Instead, they require collaboration across fields of knowledge to develop comprehensive, innovative, and sustainable solutions. Therefore, the Graduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara remains committed to becoming a center of excellence in multidisciplinary education and research that is distinguished, adaptive, and competitive at both the national and international levels. The Graduate School website is one manifestation of this commitment. Through this website, we strive to provide accurate, accessible, and regularly updated information on study programs, academic processes, the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi), research, community engagement, partnerships, student achievements, alumni, and other information needed by prospective students, partners, and the wider community. We hope that this website will not only serve as a means of disseminating information, but also as a platform that strengthens communication, expands collaborative networks, and enhances the quality of academic services within the Graduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara. Finally, I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to all Vice Directors, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, faculty members, educational support staff, and everyone who has contributed to the development and continuous updating of the Graduate School website. May the cooperation and dedication that have been given continue to bring meaningful benefits to the advancement of our institution and society. Thank you.
