Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Alhamdulillahi rabbil ‘alamin, all praise, and gratitude are due to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala for the blessings of faith, sustenance, health, and strength in completing the update of the Postgraduate School website. Salutations and peace be upon Prophet Muhammad. May we receive his intercession on the Day of Judgment. Respected Ladies and Gentlemen, The Postgraduate School (SPs) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was established in 1985 and accommodated the implementation of master's and doctoral programs at USU until 2009. In 2009, based on USU BHMN's Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART), the management of all monodisciplinary study programs was transferred to their respective faculties, comprising 21 master's programs and five doctoral programs. Currently, SPs manage several multidisciplinary programs. The concept of multidisciplinarity has begun to erode due to the "linearity" policy, even though, in reality, multidisciplinary thinking is an integrative approach. Multidisciplinarity is an approach in which concepts from different scientific fields or themes are systematically integrated from various social science disciplines. In the modern era, a single discipline cannot solve human problems alone. Their resolution must be multidisciplinary and can only be achieved through collaboration. Society is experiencing rapid, progressive social change, often exhibiting signs of disintegration. This fast-paced social transformation spans various aspects of life and presents challenges for all social institutions across different fields. Efforts to provide the latest information on multidisciplinary study programs are facilitated through the Postgraduate School website, which offers up-to-date details and answers questions from those considering further education aligned with their professional fields. The website contains comprehensive information about the programs offered at SPs, including learning outcomes, teaching and learning activities, and the achievements of students and alumni. In conclusion, I sincerely thank all Vice Directors, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, and administrative staff who have contributed to gathering the necessary data and information to update the SPs website.
