74 Years of Universitas Sumatera Utara: Listening to Science for Global Impact

As it reaches its 74th year, Universitas Sumatera Utara continues its long-standing journey in education, research, innovation, and community service.

Carrying the spirit of “Listening to Science for Global Impact,” the 74th Dies Natalis serves as a momentum to reaffirm the role of science and knowledge in generating innovation, solutions, and tangible impacts for society, the nation, and the world.

This spirit is aligned with the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Through education and the development of high-quality human resources, USU contributes to SDG 4 by strengthening access to knowledge, competencies, and learning opportunities that are relevant to the needs of society and the workforce.

Through research, innovation, and community service, science and knowledge are encouraged to generate solutions that support improved well-being, food security, and quality of life, in line with SDGs 1, 2, and 3.

Meanwhile, strengthening academic networks, research collaboration, partnerships with various stakeholders, as well as national and international cooperation are essential components in advancing SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

The Master’s Program in Property and Valuation Management (MMPP), Graduate School of USU, also contributes to this spirit through the advancement of education, research, innovation, and collaboration in property management, valuation, and asset management to support sustainable development and create broader benefits for society.

May USU continue to excel, remain globally competitive, advance sustainably, and create global impact through knowledge, innovation, and collaboration.
