The Postgraduate School of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (SPs USU) successfully organized its second Family Gathering on Saturday and Sunday, September 16th and 17th, 2023, in Tigaras, Simalungun Regency. This event, attended by all SPs USU staff and employees, served as a significant opportunity to strengthen family bonds and camaraderie within the workplace.
Prof. Ir. T. Sabrina, M.Agr. Sc., Ph.D, the Director of SPs USU, expressed that this event aimed to reinforce employee bonds. In a relaxed atmosphere, the event featured various games designed to test the cooperation of employees in different groups.
"We organize this event to strengthen our bonds, and it is filled with games that motivate cooperation, where everyone helps each other without hesitation in achieving common goals," said Prof. Sabrina.
The Family Gathering has become a routine event at SPs USU, having been held for two years. Prof. Sabrina added, "This is the second time we have held a family gathering. The first one was in Bukit Lawang."
During the event, Prof. Sabrina was accompanied by Vice Director I, Prof. Evawany Yunita Aritonang, Vice Director II, Prof. Hamidah Harahap, Secretary of the Department of Natural Resource and Environmental Management (PSL) Prof. Delfian, and all staff members at SPs USU.
Although not all employees could attend the gathering, the enthusiasm and spirit remained high. "Indeed, not everyone could participate in this event, and I understand that it coincided with academic activities. Nevertheless, the excitement of this event is undiminished, and we hope that all employees can attend future events," Prof. Sabrina stated.
Prof. Sabrina also hoped that the unity built during this Family Gathering would positively impact cooperation in the daily routines of SPs USU. "We hope this event fosters unity during games and in the day-to-day work environment. With this, we aim to make the Graduate School of USU even better in the future," she concluded.
