Medan, October 30, 2025 — The School of Postgraduate Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) accepted an invitation to attend the IPOS Forum 2025 (Indonesian Palm Oil Stakeholders Forum), a prestigious annual forum that brings together stakeholders in the Indonesian palm oil industry.

USU's presence at this forum was represented by Prof. Ir. T. Sabrina, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., Director of the School of Postgraduate of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, and Dr. Rosadi Patra Tanjung, ST, M.Si and Genesis Sembiring Depari, S.Pd, MBA, Ph.D., as Permanent Lecturers at the School of Postgraduate Universitas Sumatera Utara.

The IPOS Forum is an annual strategic event organized by the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) North Sumatra Branch, in collaboration with the Palm Oil Research Center (PPKS), the Sumatra Plantation Companies Cooperation Agency (BKSPPS), and the Palm Oil Lovers Community. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the forum, signifying a decade of contributions to strengthening policy, research, and cross-sector collaboration in the palm oil plantation sector.

As is the tradition every year, the IPOS Forum focuses on discussions regarding regulations and legal certainty in the national palm oil industry. This forum serves as an important platform for academics, government officials, and industry players to discuss, formulate solutions, and oversee the direction of Indonesia's palm oil policy to make it more competitive, sustainable, and supportive of farmers' welfare and environmental conservation.

The presence of representatives from the USU School of Postgraduate demonstrates the institution's commitment to contributing academically and scientifically to plantation sector policies, particularly those related to strategic national commodities such as palm oil. Through its active involvement in this forum, USU is expected to strengthen the role of universities as strategic partners of the government and industry in promoting innovation, applied research, and the development of superior human resources in the agribusiness sector.
