The Indonesian Master of Management Program Association (APMMI) recently embarked on a benchmarking visit to Curtin University in Australia to prepare for international accreditation. The visit aimed to study global best practices in accreditation, enhance the competitiveness of Master of Management programs in Indonesia, and foster stronger academic collaboration with internationally recognized institutions.
The delegation, comprising key representatives from APMMI-affiliated universities, engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty members and accreditation experts from Curtin University. These discussions covered curriculum management strategies, internationalization efforts, and quality assurance frameworks—critical aspects that align with international accreditation requirements.
One of the key highlights of the visit was a session on global accreditation standards, where Curtin University shared insights on meeting the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation criteria. The Indonesian delegation explored how leading institutions structure their programs to meet global business education benchmarks, focusing on faculty development, research impact, student learning experiences, and industry partnerships.
Beyond accreditation discussions, the visit paved the way for potential academic collaborations. Several joint research initiatives, faculty exchange programs, and student mobility opportunities were explored, reinforcing APMMI’s vision of integrating Indonesian business education into the global academic landscape. The discussions underscored the importance of cross-border knowledge exchange in elevating Indonesia’s management education to world-class standards.
A senior representative from APMMI emphasized the visit's significance: “This benchmarking initiative is a crucial step toward enhancing the quality of Master of Management programs in Indonesia. By learning from institutions like Curtin University, we can better equip our programs to meet global standards and provide students with a truly international educational experience.”
The visit concluded with a commitment to ongoing collaboration between APMMI and Curtin University. Both parties expressed interest in strengthening ties through future academic engagements, research partnerships, and curriculum development initiatives. As Indonesian Master of Management programs move toward international accreditation, this benchmarking activity represents a strategic milestone in their journey toward global recognition.
