Students of the Master of Natural Resources and Environmental Management study program of the Graduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) class of 2021 conducted a Field Work Lecture (KKL).

Medan, June 5, 2022, students of the Postgraduate Master of Natural Resources and Environmental Management study program at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) class of 2021 conducted a Field Work Lecture (KKL).  This fieldwork course is divided into two locations: the first is on Pandang Island, Batubara Regency, and the second is at Batubara Mangrove Park. Activities carried out on Pulau Pandang include exploring tourism potential, snorkeling, and beach cleaning activities. He was concerned over the discovery of piles of plastic waste on the beach of Pandang Island, and he invited all students who participated in KKL to take a fundamental role in caring for the sea and beaches by cleaning the beach.

The activity was carried out for 2 days (3-5/6) in Batubara Regency accompanied by the lecturer in charge of the Natural Resources and Environmental Management Course, Dr. Hesti Wahyuningsih, S.Si., M.Si., and also Dr. Delvian SP., MP. At the second location, namely at Batubara Mangrove Park on Pantai Sejarah, Batubara Regency, all students and lecturers involved in the USU Postgraduate School MPA Master of Natural Resource and Environmental Management study program carried out mangrove planting activities together with the Cinta Mangrove farmer group chaired by Azizi. 

The Chairperson of the USU Master and Doctoral Study Program in Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Prof. Rahmawaty, expressed her pride and appreciation for the activity, and hoped that the activity could continue. “This is a form of real action by the academic community of the USU Master of Natural Resources and Environmental Management for a better earth and for future generations,” she said.
