MMPP USU held a workshop on Property Sustainability Towards Medan Green City

The Master's Program in Valuation and Property Management (MMPP) at the Postgraduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a "Sustainability Property Workshop towards Medan Green City" at the Postgraduate School Hall on Saturday, November 28th, 2015.

The event, which took place from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM WIB, was opened by the master of ceremonies, followed by a prayer, remarks from the committee chairman Ir. Nazaruddin, ST, Ph.D., remarks from the Director of the USU Postgraduate School, Prof. Dr. Erman Munir, M.Sc., and opening remarks from the Acting Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Subhilhar, Ph.D.

The workshop began with presentations from four speakers. The first speaker was Mrs. Siti Adiningsih Adiwoso, Lead Consultant of the Green Building Council Indonesia, with the topic "Green Building as the Basis for Building a Green City." Mrs. Naning, as she is known, provided insights and awareness about the environment.

The second speaker was Mr. Beny Iskandar, head of the Spatial Planning & Building Arrangement (TRTB) department of Medan City, representing Mr. Ir. Sampurno Pohan, Head of the Medan City TRTB Department, with the topic "Sustainable Development, City Planning Regulations, and Problems Faced in Implementation."

The third speaker was Mr. H. M. Nezar Djoeli, ST (Deputy Chairman of Commission D of the Regional Representative Council of North Sumatra Province), who delivered a presentation on "Sustainable Development with Environmental Insight towards Medan Green City."

The final speaker was Mr. Surendro (Rating Manager of the Green Building Council Indonesia), who presented on the "Greenship Assessment Tool."

 

Afterward, the 60 participating MMPP students were divided into three groups, each discussing input for sustainable housing, sustainable high-rise buildings, and sustainable public facilities in small classes guided by three lecturers and speakers.

The fifth speaker was Dr. Khaira Amalia Fachrudin, S.E. Ak, MBA, CA, MAPPI (Cert), who presented theoretical concepts and input from the workshop results.
