Master's Program in Regional and Rural Development Planning

Program Magister

Established in 1992, the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Master's Program in Regional and Rural Development Planning focuses on multidisciplinary education based on an integrated system approach.

Supported by outstanding lecturers with national teaching certificates, our students are guided to master, analyze, and solve regional development planning problems, especially in village areas. Graduates of the USU Master's Program in Regional and Rural Development Planning are expected to become educators and experts who can become the core of regional development problem solvers spread across various agencies in Indonesia, both government and private.

History

1985

The Regional and Rural Development (PWD) Study Program began in 1985 by establishing a Strata-2 (S2) Study Program in collaboration with Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The establishment of this study program was stated in the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 75/D/8185 on April 6, 1985.

1987

In the academic year 1987/1988, 4 master programs were opened, namely: (1) Soil Science, (2) Agronomy, (3) Management of Natural Resources and Environment (PSL), and (4) Regional and Rural Development Planning (PWD). This program is implemented as Credit Collection Activities (KPK) S2 IPB-USU. Lecture activities in this KPK are carried out at the IPB Bogor and USU campuses.

1992

Based on the Director General of Higher Education Decree, No.474/DIKTI/Kep/1992, dated October 27, 1992, the Master of Regional and Rural Development Planning (PWD) program was fully opened at the Universitas Sumatera Utara. The Regional and Rural Development Planning (PWD) Study Program is multidisciplinary, based on an integrated system approach. Therefore, the degree graduates receive is a Master of Science (MS).
