The distribution of donations to flood-affected communities was carried out through the collaboration of PEPSILI (the Association of Indonesian Environmental Science Study Programs), the S2 & S3 Natural Resources and Environmental Management Study Program (PSL) of the Postgraduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), the Central Board (PP) of the Indonesian Soil Science Association (HITI), and BKM Syuhada Jalan Balam, Medan.
Part of the distributed donations came from the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Donor Post and were handed over by the Vice Rector III of USU, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, together with Zaid Perdana Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.
The distribution of assistance was carried out directly to the community in Dusun Pakis, Harapan Makmur Village, Sei Lepan District, as well as Lingkungan Sempurna, Tangkahan Durian Subdistrict, Brandan Barat District. This activity also involved Prof. Rahmawaty and Prof. Abdul Rauf, along with doctoral students of the PSL Study Program, PSL alumni, and undergraduate Forestry students, who together ensured that the assistance was distributed properly and accurately to those in need.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the assistance provided can ease the burden of communities affected by flooding while strengthening the values of solidarity, empathy, and social concern. This cross-institutional collaboration serves as a tangible manifestation of the active role of the academic community and professional organizations in supporting humanitarian actions and sustainable development.
