SPs USU Holds Workshop on Strengthening Commitment to Achieving WBK at USU
Medan—The Postgraduate School of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (SPs USU), through the Master's Program in Management (MM), shows its commitment to supporting the achievement of the Corruption Free Zone (WBK) and the Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Zone (WBBM).
This commitment is shown by holding a WBK and WBBM integrity zone workshop, inviting financial officers from 16 Faculties throughout USU. This workshop is expected to create a transparent, fair, and quality environment.
“This activity is carried out so that all those in the finance, equipment, or payroll department at the Universitas Sumatera Utara can do their work well, with integrity, and serve well. Approximately 120 employees came from various faculties at USU, we invited 16 faculties consisting of Paymasters, PUMK, Deputy Directors in the USU environment,” said Deputy Director 2 SPs USU Prof. Dr. Ir Hamidah Harahap M.Sc after the workshop at the MM SPS USU Auditorium, Monday (11/20).
This workshop was filled by two presenters including Yudi Purnomo Harahap from the Police Headquarters Investigation Team and Dr. Victor Lumbanraja, M.A.P., MSP from the USU internal supervisory body.
On that occasion, Victor also said that this meeting was a form of commitment to eradicating corruption at USU. According to him, integrity must start with commitment, which is realized through real actions.
These actions, continued Viktor, include the use of digital transformation. “For example, by using applications and the like, we reduce interaction, because from the evaluation carried out, interaction creates opportunities for corruption to occur. We encourage all processes at USU to utilize the e-office application,” he hoped.
This is done to support good university governance, such as the rector's vision and mission to achieve a world-class university. “With good management in each work unit, the aspired world-class university will be realized because it intersects directly,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Yudi Purnomo Harahap appreciated USU's high commitment to forming the WBK and WBBM integrity zones in the campus environment. “We know that USU has a high commitment to forming an integrity zone for corruption-free areas and clean bureaucratic areas, which means that there is a strong desire and determination, and this must be an example for other universities,” he said.
He hopes that MM SPs USU can become a barometer for corruption prevention efforts in higher education. “This event was very well attended by several participants, including campus officials and employees who carry out technicalities in the future through this activity initiated, such as payroll and others,” said Yudi.
Corruption-free implementation, Yudi continued, starts with the integrity of its personnel. “This means that without personnel who have integrity, it is impossible to talk about anti-corruption. Secondly, how to create anti-corruption programs, such as new student admission programs and others,” said Yudi.
