The development sector has a significant contribution to environmental damage, namely, contributing 40% of greenhouse gas emissions, producing 40% of global waste, using 12% of the world's water, producing indoor air quality that is 5 times worse than outdoor air, and using one-third (1/3) of the world's existing natural resources.
The contribution of the development sector and the exploitation of nature for human needs results in quite severe environmental damage. The real impact that we are feeling now is climate change. The increasingly hot and extreme climate is triggering natural disasters such as storms that have been occurring more frequently lately. Besides that, floods & landslides in the rainy season, drought in the dry season, and environmental pollution are also routinely experienced.

The purpose of this workshop is to gain a deeper understanding of sustainable properties, both commercial buildings and residences, learn from the experience of the DKI Jakarta provincial government in its implementation, and understand the benefits experienced by building owners who have implemented sustainable concepts.
Following this, workshop participants and speakers will collaborate to formulate a draft regulation for sustainable properties in North Sumatra, along with strategies to strengthen it. This will serve as input for the North Sumatra provincial government and encourage investors to realize sustainable properties promptly.
