USU Master's Program in Management Alumnus Hasrul Azwar Receives the Royal Medal Wissam Malaki from the King of Morocco A remarkable achievement has once again been accomplished by an alumnus of the Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Drs. H. Hasrul Azwar, M.M., was awarded the prestigious Royal Medal Wissam Malaki by the King of Morocco in recognition of his outstanding contributions and dedication during his tenure as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Morocco and Mauritania. This distinguished honor is a source of pride for the entire USU Master of Management community and reflects the global achievements and excellence of its alumni. 03 August 2026

Teaching Practitioner Program: Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management in Addressing the Dynamics of Modern Business The Master's Program in Management organized a Teaching Practitioner Program for the Business Management Capita Selecta course as part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of learning through collaboration with industry. The program featured Dr. Fikri Al-Haq Fachryana, S.TP., MM., MH., CLMP., CPSCM., CPM., who shared his professional experience in logistics management, Supply Chain Management, distribution strategies, and managerial decision-making within business organizations. Through presentations, interactive discussions, and case study analyses, students gained a more comprehensive understanding of the practical application of management theories in industry. 31 July 2026

Exploring Industry Research and Innovation di Rubber Research Institute Vietnam Students and faculty members of the Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara conducted an academic visit to the Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam to explore research practices, innovation, and industrial development. International Academic Exposure in Business & Management The International Academic Exposure in Business & Management Program provided students of the Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (MM USU) with opportunities to broaden their international perspectives through cross-border academic activities. The program included academic discussions, visits to institutions and industry stakeholders, as well as direct interactions with academics and practitioners from partner countries, allowing participants to gain practical insights into global business practices. The program aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of international business practices, expand academic networks, and enhance their competencies in addressing challenges within the global business environment. 30 July 2026

GoTo Corp and MM USU Collaboration Successfully Supports Academic Visit to Vietnam The Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (MM USU), in collaboration with GoTo Corp, organized an academic visit to Vietnam as part of its efforts to broaden students' global perspectives. The program was attended by MM USU faculty members and students, providing opportunities to gain first-hand insights into business practices, management strategies, and industrial innovation through visits to various institutions and partners in Vietnam, complemented by discussion sessions and knowledge-sharing activities with local practitioners. MM USU Holds the Road to the 2nd International Joint Conference on the Digitalisation of Sustainable Social Science The Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (MM USU) organized the Road to the 2nd International Joint Conference on the Digitalisation of Sustainable Social Science on May 10, 2025, at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Auditorium. The event was designed as a pre-conference program in preparation for the upcoming international conference, bringing together academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to discuss the application of digital technologies in advancing sustainable social sciences. The speakers presented topics on digital transformation and the role of technology in sustainable development, followed by an interactive discussion session with participants. Through this event, participants broadened their understanding of digitalization in the social sciences, strengthened academic collaboration and networking, and enhanced their motivation to conduct innovative research. 30 July 2026

MM USU Holds a Public Lecture with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to Strengthen Students' Understanding of Social Security The Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (MM USU) organized a Public Lecture with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan on March 7, 2025, at the MM USU Auditorium to enhance students' understanding of Indonesia's employment social security system. The event began with opening remarks from the program leadership, followed by a presentation delivered by representatives of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan on the country's key social security programs, including Work Accident Insurance, Old-Age Security, Pension Security, and Death Benefits, as well as their significance for both employees and employers. The program also featured an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session, allowing students to engage directly with the speakers. Through this public lecture, students gained broader insights into the importance of employment protection while establishing direct communication with professionals from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. 30 July 2026

MM USU Holds an International Mobility Program and Cultural Exchange in Malaysia and Thailand The Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (MM USU) organized the International Mobility Program and Cultural Exchange in Malaysia and Thailand from February 13–16, 2025, as part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of education and expanding international collaboration. The program provided students with the opportunity to explore Malaysia's education system through institutional visits and academic discussions, followed by various cultural exchange activities, including introductions to local culture and visits to historical landmarks. The program then continued in Thailand with a series of academic activities and educational visits designed to broaden participants' understanding of the country's social, economic, and cultural development. 30 July 2026
