MM USU PTPN Partnership Class Students Conduct Benchmarking Visit to Vietnam, Develop Strategies to Help PT SGN Recover from Rp668 Billion Loss The Master of Management Program (MM USU) at Universitas Sumatera Utara, through its PTPN Partnership Class, conducted a benchmarking visit to the Sugarcane Research Institute (SRI) Vietnam on January 21–24, 2026, to formulate strategies for improving the performance of PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara (SGN), which recorded a loss of Rp668.4 billion in 2025. The study focused not only on improving operational efficiency but also on developing sustainable strategies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the program’s vision of producing innovative managers who create meaningful social impact. 08 August 2026

MM USU Strengthens Digital Transformation through Participation in Dataiku Summit Singapore 2026 The participation of the Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (MM USU) in the Dataiku Summit Singapore & Executive Briefing Center 2026 represents a strategic step toward strengthening data-driven education quality and governance. Through this activity, participants gained insights into Enterprise AI, data analytics, digital transformation, and Responsible AI implementation, which can be adapted for curriculum development, research activities, and community engagement programs. MM USU Participates in PKMMB Community Engagement Program to Support the Management Development of The Zamrud House MSME in Martapura The Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (MM USU) participated in a Community Engagement Program organized by the Western Nusantara Master of Management Collaboration Association (PKMMB) at The Zamrud House, Martapura, on July 21, 2026. The activity focused on providing business management assistance for MSMEs in the gemstone trading sector, covering business management strategies, marketing, and business governance. Lecturers from Master's Program in Management that are members of PKMMB, including MM USU, shared their knowledge and engaged in direct discussions with local business owners. This activity supports the achievement of SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), while also aligning with MM USU’s mission to develop community engagement initiatives that provide meaningful contributions to society and its vision of producing innovative managers with social impact. 05 August 2026

Workshop on the Development and Implementation of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum The Workshop on the Development and Implementation of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum for Master's and Doctoral Programs was held on July 7, 2026, at the Auditorium of the Postgraduate School of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (SPs USU). The workshop was attended by the school leadership, heads and secretaries of study programs, faculty members, and administrative staff within the Postgraduate School, including the Master's Program in Management (MM USU). The session featured Prof. Ir. Maya Sarah, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPM as the keynote speaker, who presented the fundamental principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the development of Graduate Profiles and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), as well as strategies for effective OBE implementation. The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion session involving all participants. The activity involved MM USU's leadership, quality assurance team, faculty members, and administrative staff to study best practices in program governance, Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum implementation, research and community engagement management, and academic services. USU Master's Program in Management Alumnus Hasrul Azwar Receives the Royal Medal Wissam Malaki from the King of Morocco A remarkable achievement has once again been accomplished by an alumnus of the Master's Program in Management at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Drs. H. Hasrul Azwar, M.M., was awarded the prestigious Royal Medal Wissam Malaki by the King of Morocco in recognition of his outstanding contributions and dedication during his tenure as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Morocco and Mauritania.
